Some people run ,some people swim I like to get out and meditate on the xp falcon. It's an escape it's not a 1930's ford coupe (that I might get one day) but it's an " old Skool" ? Now days, In my day it was just another old car, ha ha. The other funny thing was that I drove Holden's, hotted up Holden's and was a holden man when I was indestructible, ha ha . One story when speed cameras had just come I..... Well let's just say there was no reading...... Another time I went to the drags at Calder and wow the wait line to the start was about 85% xw & xy's 15% Holden's and 10 % valiants though I do remember some "old hot rods " as well .... They were the coolest.
Now one day someone introduced me to ebay and I came across a mx falcon and I thought it was the coolest thing I had ever seen! That was a while back and dad's aways influence their sons and it was not long until we brought a xp fairmont built in 1966 sept one of the last. I walked away but we got it home and my son was stoked, and sure enough just about everything needed doing. But over a couple of years had it on the road and just waiting to repaint. Anyway that is now history and I wanted a xp coupe but the owners or other bidders always wanted a bit more cash , one night I checked ebay and there it was one owner shed find from the country, it had only just been put up and after a quick talk and two minutes on the pillow I was back up buying it ! Cut a story short ....I fixed the spots in the floor and on the road. I have gradually fixed all the other small rust spots and might one day get a respray... Which it already must have had a year or two before it was put in the shed. It's no show car but it's a bloody fine example of a motor car, how they used to be.
Ok pictures to come soon , and one day I will make it to the club to join up .
